Silpada Designs has been in business over a decade and specializes in jewelry which is sold through its distributors or representatives. Unlike other direct sales jewelry companies, Silpada does not force its reps to adhere to a strict form in how they choose to sell. The representatives can use informal house parties, the internet, or any other means they find comfortable for their personality.
The cost of entry is around $200 for the required certification course and about $1500 ($750 for new rep) retail purchase worth of jewelry. A representative for Silpada will purchase all jewelry at a 50% discount and receive commissions immediately upon transaction. According to the company website, each home party averages $950 retail sales with $285 going to the distributor who hosted the party. On average, if a rep hosted 5 house parties per week their net income would be $1,425 per week or $68,400 annually. Read the rest of this entry »
